June in Pictures Part 7 & A Blog Break

I'm sure this is getting old, but guess what?  I need to play catch up.  I only have 2 days for this post.

June 23:  Black & White
Being crazy in Lagoon with Rebekah!

June 24:  Love
Oh the love!
This was also taken at Lagoon.
I love these kids, we all loved this ride and the day was just lovely!

I am about to leave for an 8 day road trip!  That means no blogging but so much to catch up on when I get back.  There are still 6 more days that I need to do for June in Pictures, a baby shower post, the Lagoon post and then a whole new post for my trip!  I am starting to feel like I am always catching up which is how I felt when I used to scrapbook!  However, this is still much better.  I'll be back soon with some California sun and beach between my toes.

June in Pictures Part 6

Well, once again I have some catching up to do.  I have been crazy busy helping put together a berry cute baby shower (pictures soon!) and an all day road trip to Lagoon with my crazy friend and 5 kids! (again, pictures soon!)  All these things add up to a happy, but very tired me.

June 17:  Bokeh
Bokeh is the official term when you take a picture and the foreground is in focus and the background is blurry.  I did research on this but don't know how to pronounce the word.

June 18:  Eyes
Snow, the Frank's dog and her cute brown eyes
They are dark in the picture but they are the type of eyes that you give her what she wants because of
those cute, doleful-looking eyes!

June 19:  Summertime
Allergies!  I have had awful allergies from sneezing to itchy eyes.
Doesn't that make you think summertime?

June 20:  Water
Ann Morrison Park fountain with a cute girl laying in the sun

June 21:  Micro
Dead flower on the pavement

June 22:  Landscape
Right after crossing the Utah border from Idaho
I love the peppered cloud look.  Taken from the car window

Well, that is all that I have for now.  I know that I am still behind.  Who knows when I will catch up again.  I am losing my motivation to finish this out but I know that I will stick with it.  Today is a day of laying around.  I feel icky and I think it is from the super busy week and weekend I had last week.  I have so much to do (again!) before leaving on a week long road trip but instead, I think the doctor has ordered a day of couch sitting and calling in sick to The Willey.

Victory is Mine!

When summer started a few weeks ago, I had only one thing in mind... trapping the neighborhood stray cat!  Now normally I am not concerned about these things but then some unfortunate turn of events occurred.  First, he sprayed in my garage.  It was no longer safe for me to leave it open for a few hours before leaving the house again.  Second, he would come meowing through my yard about 4 times a day.  I am pretty sure his meow was the "come and get it" kind for the lady kitties.  Last, he made a habit of spraying on my patio, bushes, grass and table cover in my backyard.  This has left me repulsed by the look and smell of it. (No pictures of this for you, just imagination)

So after 2 weeks and a can of tuna later, I finally got him!  It seemed surreal and while I was trying not to stress out over this kitty making my house his house, I felt very relieved when I caught him.  I may have even danced in my living room!  One call to the animal control and they came and grabbed him.

He wasn't a big fan of the cage

Little did I know that the animal control van would bring out 4 of my neighbors to wonder what was going on.  I felt embarrassed and wanted them to know that I was catching the stray and not going after their pets!  The ladies were very thankful that I had caught that cat and told me not to worry.

As I sat waiting for the animal control van, I thought, maybe once this kitty is neutered I would adopt him and call him Larry (the name was a working name).  But then reality kicked in and I reminded myself that I do not want to own a pet for a number of reasons.  My summer project is completed and the victory is mine.  Now it is time to conquer the back patio aka the kitty domain, and clean it very well and then disinfect myself.

Good luck Larry whether it be in life or, let's be honest, death

June in Pictures Part 5

At this point, I cannot believe we are half way through June!  I was busy this week working at a day camp as well as working at The Willey, playing softball and watching my girls, so the week went fast.  I am excited to share these next few days with you!

June 13:  Reminds You of Childhood
Super Nintendo with Super Mario Kart!
I have so many great memories of playing video games with my brothers and dad.  I would watch my older brother conquer Mario Brothers on the original Nintendo and I would always crush my dad in a Dr. Mario challenge. Then my generation's version came out in the form of Super Nintendo.  My younger brother and I would play all sorts of games although Mario Kart and a soccer game were the preferred games.  I probably wouldn't have been into video games as much as I was if I didn't have brothers who loved playing them.  There were fights and frustrations over losing but it was also tons of good ol' fun!

June 14:  Someone You Love
How can anyone not love that smile?
Ella Susan is a very special girl to me and I love her more than words can say.  She is silly, kind, pays attention to details and is sensitive to those around her (animals included!)  I have had a bond with this girl since playing a "game" with her while she was still in her mommy's tummy.  She is my sweet Ella Sue and I love her!

June 15:  Action
Gotta love my Franks!
I was just going to take a picture of the kids, but Dan got really into it.  It took a couple of shots to have all 5 moving.  This one is a keeper though!

June 16:  Jelly Jar
The first rose of the season placed in a jelly jar with some sun.

Whew!  This was a lot to share, but I was so excited to get this part posted!  It also feels good to be caught up.  Stay tuned!

June in Pictures Part 4 (the lame part...)

So I only have 2 pictures for this post, but they need some explaining.  I have been taking all of my June pictures with my simple point and shoot camera and not with my higher quality camera.  Why?  Mainly out of laziness and it is so much easier to tote around than my "fancier" camera.  Want another excuse?  I don't lay any claim to be a photographer, I just like to take good, cute pictures.  I researched how to take a picture with sun flare and one with a silhouette.  Neither turned out to be what I was envisioning.

June 11:  Silhouette

Lame huh?  I didn't want to post it but I didn't want to ignore what
was supposed to be taken that day either!
I tried to figure out how to take an outside shot, but this was easier.

June 12:  Sun Flare
This one took awhile but can you see the small amount of the flare?

I am ready to put these 2 days down in blog history and move on to much more exciting pictures (and better quality too!).  Stay tuned for Part 5, it will be better.

June in Pictures Part 3

My first week of summer started out slow, to the point where I was already saying "I'm bored!" on Monday!  Then the week got busy and I had little time for blogging.  It's funny how things can turn around like that.  So now it is time to play catch up.

June 7:  High Angle

Can you tell where this was taken?

June 8:  Sunset

Sunset at Borah Park, wonderful!

June 9:  Fresh Fruit

Ironically, this isn't even my fruit basket.  BUT...
Everyone should know what good fresh fruit looks like, and trust me, I like to eat it!

June 10:  Animal
Awww, isn't he cute?  NO!  This little guy has been ruining my backyard!
When I triumph in my little "summer project" I will post more about him.

Well, I have more pictures to post, but this has taken me 2 days due to internet/picture issues so I am calling it quits for now.  In the meantime, I am off to take more pictures and learn what bokeh is.  Stay tuned!

June in Pictures Part 2

Here are three more days of pictures!
June 4:  Clouds
I didn't take this picture on June 4 because it was our first sunny day in a long time!
I took the picture today instead.  Is that cheating?

June 5:  Breakfast Today
Egg white on an english muffin with some fresh spinach.  Yum!
This is a weekend breakfast special - not an everyday thing.

June 6:  Books
These are my recent, current and soon to be read books.
Harry Potter is my current read because the movie will be coming out soon!  I always do a re-read of the book before the movie comes out.  After that, I will be diving in to Brain Rules.  It may make me a better teacher!  The other 2 books have been read and are okay, I wouldn't make a recommendation for them.

Well, there is June in Pictures so far.  Continue to stay tuned!

June in Pictures

My friend Andrea posted about a fun way to kick off summer.  With school officially out, I need something to keep me entertained.  Here is the list of photos I will be taking this month:

Looking through this list there are a few "camera" things that I don't even know how to do!  Good thing I have time to practice and look it up.  I might post the pictures daily (if I get bored enough) or I will catch you up in one post.  Here is the month so far:

June 1: Self-Portrait
I had to have a special someone in the picture with me!

June 2: Favorite Shoes
Here's a new pair of shoes that I love, but guess what?  I have 2 favorite pairs!!!
Aren't those adorable?  Got 'em from Target

June 3: Hands
These are 8 hands from some of the best kids I know!
It was taken at one of the last MacFranDun outings.

I was technically going to be caught up with June by posting this last night BUT blogger was not working well with me, so I am posting this a day later.  Stay tuned for more pictures!
